Youth Enterprise Day Camp:
Youth Enterprise Day Camp provides youth with an introduction to all aspects of business operations and start-up, with imagination enhancing activities, brainstorming and role-playing. Campers are responsible for creating and promoting their own business venture! They will embrace their entrepreneurial side as they negotiate a loan for purchasing materials to produce and manufacture their product. “Business for a Day” brings much awaited excitement on the last day of camp, as they finally get the chance to showcase and sell their product. Our campers learn what it takes to be a part of the real business world all while enjoying the summer heat!
*Regional Youth Enterprise Camp:
New this year, is an overnight camp held at Camp of the Woods in Dinorwic, Ontario, bringing together youth from all over the region; including Kenora, Dryden, Red Lake, Fort Frances, Atikokan, Geraldton and Terrace Bay for what is sure to be an unforgettable experience. While molding future leaders and entrepreneurs with business-focused activities, the youth will also have the opportunity to engage in activities including rock climbing, swimming, hiking and canoeing (just to name a few) while evenings will be spent relaxing by campfires! The price for this camp is $250. For more information contact Cierra at 807-467-4630 or at email@example.com.
Who runs Youth Enterprise Day Camp?
Three Community Futures Development Corporations, including Lake of the Woods Business Incentive Corporation, Chukuni Community Development Corporation, and Rainy River Futures Development Corporation with the Northern Ontario Youth Entrepreneurship Initiative and the Northwest Business Centre have collaborated to create this youth experience. With the help of our generous sponsors, including the City of Kenora and Northern Community Development Services, we are offering this unique opportunity to young people in our region. It is our hope that, by instilling an entrepreneurial spirit in our northern youth, we will lay the foundation for a healthy economy. This project would not be possible without the generous support of our sponsors including FedNor, and the Ontario Trillium Foundation.
